Co-founder & CTO
Award-winning online coding clubs that teach kids to code by making games.
I co-founded The Code Zone with Ashley and built the platform that powers it. Kids aged 6-16 learn Scratch, Python, and TypeScript through game development - guided by live mentors in weekly sessions or at their own pace through the academy.
Live, Interactive Sessions
Every Game Dev Club session is led by a live, DBS-checked, STEM-certified mentor. Kids get real-time help, feedback on their code, and the kind of encouragement that keeps them coming back. It's not a video course - it's a club.
- DBS-checked and STEM-certified mentors
- Small group sizes for individual attention
- Real-time code review and help
- Safe, moderated environment
A Real Progression Path
Kids start with block-based coding in Scratch - visual, immediate, and fun. As they grow, they move to Python game development and eventually TypeScript. Each step builds on the last, so they're always challenged but never overwhelmed.

Led By Amazing Mentors
Every session is led by a real person who genuinely cares. Our mentors are DBS-checked, STEM-certified, and trained to be patient, encouraging, and adapt to each child's pace.
This is something I'm genuinely proud of building. The platform connects kids with mentors who make coding feel like the most natural thing in the world.
Under the Hood
The technical side of building an interactive coding education platform.
Real-time Platform
Built on .NET and Blazor. Live sessions need real-time communication between mentors and students - code sharing, instant feedback, and interactive challenges that all work without lag.
Code Execution
Kids write and run code in the browser. The platform handles Scratch project rendering, Python execution, and game previews - all sandboxed and safe, all running in real-time during sessions.
Safeguarding
When you're building a platform for children, safeguarding isn't a feature - it's the foundation. Moderated sessions, content filtering, DBS-verified mentors, and parental controls are built into every layer.
Curriculum Engine
The progression system adapts to each child's pace. Challenges are individually tailored - mentors can adjust difficulty, and the platform tracks where each student is on their learning journey.
COVID Pivot
We started with 11 physical clubs across the East of England. When COVID hit, we built the UK's first interactive virtual coding club - backed by Innovate UK funding to make it happen properly.
Subscription Platform
Full subscription management with Stripe integration, family accounts, session scheduling, mentor assignment, and the reporting that parents and schools need to see progress.
